This site is just for Swamp's reference but you is welcome also.

I the all slacking Swamp have put together this reference, cheat sheet, short cut, slackfest for those of you who just want to run a Linux box-server without learning how to build brains from scratch. A whole lot of stuff here is from other sources far more reputable than I around the web. I tried to give credit where credit is due but I'm a slacker so sorry if my footnotes suck. It is a decent slacking bad etiquette source for newbies but not extreme newbies. If you don't know what root is you best skat. The rest of you who want to achieve slack may stay. You will note that there is some stuff not Linux related here also, cope with it. If you are a genius system administrator go ahead and tell me how awful I am spreading impure badly documented Linux blasphemy. I Swamp am chaos!!!!!! Har har har!!

P.S. Don't make fun of my spelling you self righteous freaks!

Note from Swamp: Most of the stuff on this site is Red Hat centric because with UP2DATE patching and upgrading (to an extent) was easier. After Red Hat switched to the commercial only model and a few frustrating Fedora installs I went looking for a Red Hat alternative. I kicked around the idea of making my own distro with the help of Linux From Scratch but realized that a Swampix Distro would be just to much work and a bit egotistical. I just liked the sound of Swampix. Say it with me. SWAMPIX. Fun huh? Anyway I read about Gentoos time consuming but very cool locally compiled distro and tried it out. The instructions from the site were easy to follow and I built a system from the bottom up. After playing with it for a few months I must say that Gentoo rocks your mom. The Portage / Emerge system is even better than Red Hat's Up2date stuff. (No annoying accounts needed.) I would marry Gentoo if I could. If you have the free time and want a very stable and optimized system I highly recommend it. Plus after installing your first Gentoo system you will have learned a lot more about Linux.
ABOUT SWAMP:
Swamp is a rivithead punk moody (like a girl) nerd scifi geek with lots of cats, tattoos, and musical stuff. He works as a system admin because he cant make enough $$ with music to feed his cats. Enough said.
